The Digital Stage, the online platform for theatre, film, music, circus, and dance of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu (TNRS) and the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), brings the audience three premieres in August.
“The Digital Stage continues to bring art closer to our audience, wherever they may be. Two of August’s premieres are among the most appreciated events of this year’s FITS edition: The Stradivarius International Tour 2025 – ”THE RHAPSODIES”, and ”11 Warriors”, by Jackie Chan's Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe, along with the TNRS production ”The Last Generation”. This is how we give those who couldn’t get tickets during the Festival the chance to watch these three exceptional creations.” – Constantin Chiriac, Director of TNRS and President of FITS
August premieres on the Digital Stage:
1. FITS Opening Concert – The Rhapsodies
The Stradivarius International Tour 2025 – ”THE RHAPSODIES”, 18th edition, is a classical music project curated by violinist Alexandru Tomescu, who performs on the famous Stradivarius Elder-Voicu violin. His guest is guitarist Dragoș Ilie.
The program includes „Rhapsodies” by Enescu and Gershwin, in a special version – a transcription for violin and classical guitar, arranged by Dragoș Ilie.
2. ”11 Warriors”, by Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe, directed by HU Mingwu, a very applauded show at FITS
”11 Warriors” conveys the fundamental values of Chinese culture through the physical performance of traditional Chinese Kung Fu, while expressing the artistic beauty of the human body.
This production is composed of five chapters, elaborating the original essence of martial arts through five themes: Weapon, Soul, Master, Silence, and Celebration. It carries a strong philosophical, artistic, and ornamental character. A performance not to be missed.
3. ”The Last Generation”, a TNRS production, directed by Tudor Licu.
Eight young actors, guided by a debuting director, present an anthology performance made up of writings by six playwrights, part of the youngest generation of Romanian dramaturgy.
Each script imagines a possible end of humanity, exploring how the direction of the world affects the course of our lives.
”The Last Generation” is the rebellion of young people against a declining world — rebellion as a manifesto, as a creative act of imagining new possible realities. A defining show of the young generation, part of the national program “Manifest for Dialogue.”
