Antonio Piculeata was born in New York, on February 8th, 2007, into a family of renowned musicians of Classical and Romanian traditional music. Both of his grandparents Aurel Piculeata and Ionel Puia were „classical trained” representatives of the highest standards of Violin in traditional music. Antonio began studying the violin at the age of six, being guided by his parents. His Canadian pianist and friend, Tony Yike Yang, hailed by CBC Music as one of Canada’s finest young musicians, first rose to international acclaim at the age of 16 after becoming the youngest-ever laureate in the history of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, winning the 5th prize in 2015. They are both thrilled to present an outstanding program from César Franck's Sonata, Rondo Capriccioso by Saint Saens, Salut d’Amour by Edward Elgar, Syncopation by Fritz Kreisler and the amazing Cantabile by Paganini.
We don’t know what’s more impressive: the age of this young violinist (only 16 years old!) or his remarkable talent worthy of competing with already established musicians.
