The name of Lonely Straight Smokes came from a poem of the eminent Tang poet, Wang Wei. The poem depicted the lives and border scenes at the frontier lands. Ordinary people’s fate mingled with the feeling of family and country, in violent conflicts in the frontier and fortresses during that era. The poem described a cross-section of the scenes at the frontier lands of the Tang period.
